The New Driving Test

On 4th December 2017, the DVSA introduced a new driving test to better represent real life driving conditions with the aim of improving road safety.

So what's changed?

Two of the old manoeuvres have been removed from the test (turn in the road and reversing into a side street) and these have been replaced with "pull up on the right" and "driving forward into a bay"

The independent drive has also been increased from 10 minutes to 20 minutes.  Most candidates will follow a sat nav but 1 in 5 will still follow road signs.

There have been slight changes to the show me tell me questions with the biggest change being that 1 of the show me questions will be done whilst driving.

It really isn't much different at all!

The driving test has had minor adjustments made to it and really isn't that different to the old test.  There is no need to worry about the new test and there are only a few new things to learn.  The video below gives you an idea of what to expect from the new test.
